It’s being said that Nayanthara, who started her career with Malayalam films and then went on to become a big star in Tamil and Telugu films, is all set to make her debut in Kannada with a project titled Kichaka.
Maverick star Ravichandran will direct the film and play a dual role. If sources are to be believed, the actress has been offered an enormous amount by way of remuneration, as high as Rs 60 lakh — an unheard-of salary for a heroine in the history of the Kannada film industry.
The movie also features actress-politician Jaya Pradha in a substantial role. Produced by Munirathna, the film’s story and screenplay has been written by director Mohan.

Prabhu Deva’s wife swears to kill Nayanthara
Alas This could be the hardest outburst of a wife yearning for her husband’s love and affection. It’s all about choreographer-filmmaker Prabhu Deva, his wife Ramalath and actress Nayanthara.
Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara have been in a close relationship for the past couple of months. They’ve been traveling together across various places and indeed plan to get married shortly.
But Prabhu Deva’s wife Ramalath has openly stated that she would take Prabhu Deva to task if he desolates her and marries Nayanthara. When things are working out, Ramalath strongly admits that she will go to any extreme, even killing Nayanthara, to get her husband back.
Precisely responding to the frustrated statement by Prabhu’s wife, Nayanthara utters, “I am really wondering why she’s getting so excited merely by reading rumors. I and Prabhu Deva are good friends and we aren’t planning to get married.”

Nayanthara in Mani Rathnam’s ‘Raavan’
These days, Mani Rathnam’s “Raavana’ has been hitting the headlines. Apart from the lancinating mishaps, Mani Rathnam’s casting of actors happens to be sensational.
Ace filmmaker Mani Rathnam has the knack of adapting the grandiloquent mythological stories. It was more illustrious with his yesteryear directorial “Thalapathy’ (featuring superstars Rajnikanth, Mammooty in lead roles) inspired from “Mahabharata’. And now the filmmaker has his “Raavana’- modernized version of “Ramayana’ rolling fast on the floors.
The latest buzz we hear is that alluring fille Nayanthara is roped for enacting the role of “Mandodari’. Sources have revealed that Mani Rathnam’s wife Suhasini reached Nayanthara over the phone last evening. But the actress seems to have been quite negligent with a big doubt– whether audiences will accept her in deglamorized role.
Bilingually made, the film has Abhishek Bachchan as Ram in Hindi version while Vikram does it in Tamil. With Aishwarya Rai enacting Sita, Mani Rathnam is likely to finalize a leading actress for the role of “Mandodari’ (mythological character of Raavan’s wife and sooner official announcements would be made.

Nayanthara is ready to bounce back
After some unlucky days in the past and giving flops like Kuselan (Kathanayakudu in Telugu), Satyam (Salute in Telugu), Villu and Aegan, stars seem to be shining bright for gorgeous actress Nayanthara. This lucky lass has bagged a female-oriented role in Telugu flick to be directed by Kodi Ramakrishna of recent Tollywood mega-hit Arundhathi fame. The movie is to be a socio-fantasy-cum-graphical extravaganza like Arundhathi and is going to be produced by M.S. Raju of Sumanth Art Productions, who had earlier teamed up with Kodi Ramakrishna for Satruvu, Devi and Devi Putrudu. For the moment, the damsel is busy shooting for Bodyguard (Malayalam), Adurs, Anjaneyulu (Telugu) and Aadhavan (Tamil).
