Dhanush-Selvaraghavan back in action

Director Selvaraghavan, close on the heels of completing his magnum opus “Aayirathil Oruvan’, is set to take-off with his next film “Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’. This romance-based film was supposed to commence before couple of years with Karthi and Sandhya in lead roles. Later, the project was shelved as Selva and Karthi started shooting for “Aayirathil Oruvan’.

According to closer sources, it has been revealed that Selvaraghavan will kick-start the film’s shooting by end of August in Hyderabad. The filming will be completed within a full stretch of 50days-schedule. Dhanush, who is busy shooting simultaneously for various projects, has given instant priority for his brother.

“Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ features Dhanush and playback singer Andrea in lead roles. Music will be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Ramji handle cinematography.

With Selvaraghavan himself producing the film under a new banner, he has planned to release the film on Valentines Day 2010.

Dhanush in the remake of Rajnikanth’s ‘Mappilai’

Actor Dhanush strictly holds the title of his father-in-law Superstar Rajnikanth’s films. It’s been illustrated with his recent films “Polladhavan’ and “Padikadhavan’. Of course, for the first time, he remakes one of Rajnikanth’s blockbusters “Mappilai’. The original version was directed by Rajashekar featuring Rajnikanth, Amala (Telugu Actor Nagarjuna’s wife) and Sri Vidya in lead roles.After getting a taste of sucess with “Padikadhavan’, both Director Sooraj and Dhanush are joining hands for this film. Sooraj who earlier made super hit films “Thalainagaram’ and “Maruthamalai’ states that although it’s a remake, he will give a new look to screenplay by adding more commercial ingredients and characterizations.Hitesh Jhabak produces the film and plans are to start the shooting by end of August.
