Tamil remake for Chota Mumbai

Mohanlal’s 2007 hit film, Chota Mumbai is on the brink of having its Tamil remake. It will star Tamil actor Vijay and be his 50th film. The film, titled Sura, is not yet confirmed but according to sources, it is indeed a remake of Chota Mumbai.

Prakash Raj walks out of Pokkiri remake

Prakash Raj holds special mention for enacting the same baddie role with more variations in all the three versions of Pokkiri (Telugu, Tamil and Hindi). Indeed, his extraordinary performance in the Hindi remake “Wanted’ as Ghani Bhai has won him more offers in B-town.

Regrettably, the actor has to turn down those big offers patently for his commitment with dozen of South Indian projects. Precisely, the actor has refused to play the baddie in Kannada remake of “Pokkiri’.

It was not because of his refusal to play clichéd roles, but because of prior commitments to other projects. Reportedly with no options left, producers of Kannada remake have roped in Aashish Vidyarthi while Darshan plays the lead role as an undercover agent.

Pithamaghan goes to Bollywood remake

Bala’s “Pithamaghan’ has gained appreciations and honors at various awards ceremonies. Indeed, the film happened to be the greatest milestone in the film careers of Vikram and Surya. Soon after the film’s release, the leading producers and directors of Bollywood are eyeing on acquiring the remake rights of the same.

Finally, filmmaker Satish Kaushik has signed the deal by getting the rights. Speaking to media networks, he says, “I wanted to remake “Pithamaghan’ much before it won accolades. But due to some constraints and unavoidable issues, the process was quite delayed. Now, I making some changes adaptable to the tastes of Hindi audiences and will commence the shooting very shortly.”

It has been confirmed that Sanjay Dutt will be roped in for the lead role enacted by Vikram in Tamil version. Satish is holding talks with other leading actors to be a part of this multi-starrer project.

Satish Kaushik shot to fame with his ridiculous remake of “Karzzzz’ starring Himesh Reshammiya in lead role. Let’s hope, he doesn’t spoil the earnest efforts of director Bala, who made a tremendous show with “Pithamaghan’.

Selvaraghavan’s plan to reunite with Sonia Agarwal

After being ditched by his sweetheart Andrea Jeremiah, Selvaraghavan has planned to reunite with his wife Sonia Agarwal. Both Selva and Sonia had recently applied for divorce. Instantaneously, both the filmmaker and Andrea Jeremiah flied down to a hill station and enjoyed their romantic holiday.

But now, there happens to be a sudden twist in the tale. Recently both Selva and Andrea walked into a nightclub where she started shaking her legs with an unknown chap, who invited her to dance with him. Much-frustrated Selva requested her to stop dancing but Andrea didn’t pay heed to his plea. Later the conversation stirred up trouble in the ambience and immediately bouncers had to show him the way out of doors.

Now much broken down in spirits, Selvaraghavan has planned to confess his sins to Sonia Agarwal and start a new life with her. It has been more evident about the clash that Selva has eliminated Andrea from his upcoming film “Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’.

Prakash Raj to direct a Hindi movie

National award winner Prakash Raj has been witnessing heavy downpour of offers from B-Town producers and directors. It all happened with his spellbinding performance in Prabhu Deva’s Hindi remake of “Pokkiri’ titled “Wanted’.

The characterization of Ghani Bhai has seemingly impressed not merely the audiences, but leading filmmakers of Hindi film industry as well. Now, they are approaching him to play the villainous role in their flicks.

Nevertheless, with his hands full of offers with 12 South Indian projects, Prakash Raj turned down their offer.

Meanwhile, he has expressed his wish about making a Hindi film very shortly. At the moment, he has started working on Kannada remake of “Abhiyum Naanum’, which will mark the directorial debut of Prakash Raj in tinsel town.

Padmapriya: Thrilled by State Award

Padmapriya said she did not expect the best actress award but when it came for her performance in Mirugam, she was naturally thrilled. To be honoured by the State Government and the prospect of receiving it from the Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi is a feeling still to sink in, she says.

For the Management degree holder and proficient classical dancer, acting is a passion. “I do movies for the love of it. At the end of the day, what is etched in the mind are the various characters one portrays. Honestly, I am still living with the Nadeera character though Pokkisham is already released,” says this honest actress.

Among the best interesting characters she has played is the tribal girl she plays in the forthcoming Pazhassi Raja. There is also Striker, the Hindi film where she plays an urban girl.
